News

Council has approved the 2007 Budget.  There will be no increase in the millage of 4.0.  The percapita tax has been removed for 2007.

Council has adopted an EMS (Local Service Tax) for 2007.  The amount will be $52.00.  The tax is dedicated to support Fire, Police and Road maintenance by percentage.  The Boro will receive $47 and the school district will receive $5.  Taxpayers earning less than $12,000 per year will be exempt.  They may apply for a refund of taxes withheld with proper documentation of earnings.

Have you seen the new larger street signs?  We have complied with PennDot's requirements to upgrade the lettering to 6 inches by 2010.  We hope they will help in emergencies when other fire departments cover our area and are unfamiliar with the street names.  Please be sure to have your house numbers prominently displayed and large enough to be seen clearly, especially at night.
